A Message From the Stake Presidency

Dear Youth of the Fallon Stake of Zion,

We want you to know that we have great confidence in you and your ability. We have seen the tremendous impact you have on others when you apply yourselves. In a time when the ambition of many seems to be, to do as little as possible, your contributions to society could not be more valuable. Doctrine and Covenants 58:27-28 says, "Verily I say, men should be anxiously engaged in a good cause, and do many things of their own free will, and bring to pass much righteousness; For the power is in them, wherein they are agents unto themselves. And inasmuch as men do good they shall in nowise lose their reward."

That power is in you. Yes, you! The power to make a difference. The power to change lives; yours and others. President Russell M. Nelson explained, "The Lord has more in mind for you than you have in mind for yourself! You have been reserved and preserved for this time and place. ... The Lord needs you to change the world. As you accept and follow His will for you, you will find yourself accomplishing the impossible."

You may not feel prepared enough, or talented enough, or that you have anything special to offer. None of us feel that we are adequate enough. But the little things you do and say can have tremendous influence on others for good. One of the best ways to help is by being present. Whether it is a class, sporting event, church activity, or hanging our with friends: the strength you contribute by being there physically and mentally is significant. A kind word, a high five, encouragement when hope seems faint, these are examples of the Savior at work through you.

"...If you desire, you shall be the means of doing much good in this generation." (Doctrine and Covenants 11:8)

The Lord has extensive blessings set aside for each of you and He is eager to hand them out. We pray that you will recognize those blessings as you go forth to do His work, even if you feel timid about it.
